Happy brats-on-the-grill szn to all who celebrate and Happy Issue Seven to each and every one of you because I know we’re all celebrating!
The Flock and I are so excited about this issue, not only because it’s our seventh one and seven is my favorite number, but because the talented Flockers that have poured their hearts and souls into their art have formed an issue that is so purely them and also so purely us. In putting an issue together, we inevitably uncover themes, underlying threads that tie each of our pieces together. We’re always happily surprised by these connections and conversations, and while we have some themes that tend to pop up time and time again (Hello, deep-dive yearning! Hello, silly-spunky animals! Hello, character-driven narratives!), this batch was all of that and still somehow freshly woven tales: hello, satiety! Hello, worship! Hello, harvest!
