The Mirror-Maker

for M.

She stares into both my eyes at once,
tangling our visions
to see me beyond 3D.
She crosses her eyes so slightly,
her left to my left, her right to mine.
She makes me stereoscopic,
micro, macroscopic,
invents a new dimension
just for me. I want to inhabit it with her,
see as she sees. I want to write
with criss-crossed pencils,
speak with criss-crossed tongues;
I want to silly beyond space-time,
beyond human knowing — bend
our visions together to make an X
to mark our spot.
