I don't feel like being good today

I woke up and everything was beautiful

out my window, the sky was bloody
but from the kitchen, it was lichen thick

if I had to guess what I’m made of,
I’d say eggshells and yolk

bc I made a messy egg sandwich for breakfast
bc the govt thinks I’m a messy egg sandwich

in the mirror, my friend watches me

I say
I don’t have to be you today

she says it back smiling,

without moving her lips, she says

I am

so lovable

I reach to brush hair from her cheek,
she pulls me in and she kisses me

with tongue
