“The Jitterbug is an environmentalist collage based around a dry humor, Looney Tunes-esque gun and raccoon icons in a forest mesh and a clutter of disjointed warning signs fighting for room beyond the hedge. I imagine the raccoon dancing his toes at the gunshots, which is a far more direct attack than the abstract enemy of climate change.”
Ashley Gilland is a writer, musician, and multimedia artist from Missouri currently pursuing her MFA at UW Bothell.
