This UNEDITED mini issue dedicated to haunts, hilarity, and hair-raising happenings is afraid of haunted houses, but walks through anyways. We want spooky! We want scary! We want silly skeletons! Send us your tricks, your treats, and that ode to Vampiroan that we know you’ve been writing. Let’s read some honkin’ horror!

Submissions open: October 1 - 13 

All Genres Welcome! 

• POETRY: Submit up to 3 poems, up to 7 pages

• PROSE: Submit Flash + Micro Fiction and CNF, up to 1k words

• ART: Submit up to 5 art/photography works

• Falling in love with the ghost who makes your fan turn on in the middle of the night

• Haunts! All kinds! Make it a metaphor! Make it so literal we get scared! You know how these things can be

• Remember that time you brushed hands with your middle school crush in the candy bowl? That’s a poem and we’d like to see it!

• Vampires probably

The Logistics! 

• Use standard formatting — i.e., 12 pt font, 1 inch margins, some sort of serif/sans serif-esque font, etc.

• Do not submit previously published work — this includes pieces featured on your social media/personal blogs/etc.

• Simultaneous subs are allowed (and encouraged! Get those pubs, goose!), but send us a message on Submittable ASAP if you need to pull your piece.

• You must be 18+ to submit to Silly Goose Press.

• SGP is rated PG-13 and reserves the right to decide what is appropriate for our audience! 

• Poems may be formatted to your heart’s desire, but know that sometimes websites are very SILLY GEESE and we will have to fuss around a bit.
