Issue Two

Only Geese. So many Geese.

About This Issue:

  • This issue was stitched together in the midst of finals, graduations, weddings, and international travels. The editors spent hours together on zoom, from three different time zones, giggling, stressing, problem solving, and engaging in generally silly behavior.

We were so lucky to receive so many submissions from writers all over the US, and all over the world. We had so much fun reading them. It was amazing to see just how unique everyone’s voices were, and we hope our audience can get to know and love these writers like we do!

This is our first issue that was (almost) entirely submissions from people we’ve never met before, and we have had such an amazing time interacting with so many amazing writers. Through creating this issue we found some of our new favorite poems and prose pieces, and are so happy to have added so many new artists to our gaggle of silly geese.

We hope you enjoy Silly Goose Press Issue Two, and that you continue to follow us on our publishing journey!

  • This is our second issue, and boy, have we learned a lot! The main thing that has been reiterated time and time again is how much we love our writing community and how lucky we are to be able to work with each other and so many other amazing writers and artists.

As you are about to discover, we found yet another group of writers who write what we like to read (ah, the selfish joys of starting a literary magazine)! This issue is filled with perfect poetry and pretty and punny prose.

Publishing an issue while half the masthead is actively graduating from an MFA while the other half were working and traveling might have been a bit insane, but we did it anyway. We passed the torch back and forth, and may have leaned on some editors more than others this round, but hopefully we’ll all now have more time to even out the workload (we won’t)!

We are continuously learning more and more about the publishing world and how to market towards an audience who loves whimsy and beautiful prose as much as we do, and we are so grateful to all of our readers.

    Enjoy!
